AMERICANS and CAROLINIANS who oppose government corruption in Washington DC and Raleigh are sponsoring an Independence Day Tea Party on the Halifax Mall in downtown Raleigh, on the 4th of July, from 1pm until 5pm.

There will be music, historical skits, children's activities, and speakers. Wear your best colonial or patriotic costume and you might win the $100 prize. Event organizers are also planning to revive a traditional Fourth of July activity, the public reading of the Declaration of Independence. There will be a copy on hand for people to sign, which will be presented to the NC General Assembly.

According to organizers, this is your chance to lawfully take a stand and make your demand against tax increases and corruption, regardless of your political party affiliation. In 2010 and 2012, imagine what would happen if we all vote against all candidates and incumbents who favored corporate bailouts in 2008 and 2009.

In addition to protest rallies, contacting your representatives to tell them your demands, and voting against those who refuse to listen, one of the best things you can do is become better informed.
